News: 4th Secretary-General Working Session of the 7th National Members’ Congress of China Science Writers Association Held

On April 13, 2018, the 4th Secretary-General working session of the 7th National Members’ Congress of China Science Writers Association was held in Room 419 of China Research Institute for Science Popularization. Executive Deputy Secretary-General Meng Xiong and Deputy Secretary-Generals Wu Ou, Xu Yanlong and Zhang Zhimin attended the session, which was presided over by Secretary-General Chen Ling.
The attendees discussed over how to unfold the main work of the Association in 2018, with a focus on such items as the 2018 annual meeting of the Association, the 5th China Science Writers Association Awards for Outstanding Popular Science Works, and adjustments of the branches of the Association. Besides, how to coordinate in and organize the Popular Science Writing Forum of the World Conference on Promoting Public Scientific Quality was also discussed during the session.
Deputy Secretary-Generals had a heated discussion on the above topics during the session, and other absent Deputy Secretary-Generals participated in the discussion online. All the attendees put forward their specific comments and suggestions on how to expand the Association’s services, strengthen academic exchanges and carry out awards evaluation work. Secretary-General Chen Ling expressed her gratitude to Deputy Secretary-Generals for their support of the Association, hoping that everyone would unite and work together to complete the work tasks of the Association in 2018 and move the cause of popular science writing forward.
