2nd Annual Meeting of Science Fiction Writing & Research Base of CSWA to Be Held Soon

The 2nd Annual Meeting of the Science Fiction Writing & Research Base of China Science Writers Association (CSWA) & Symposium on Children’s Science Fiction Book Series and Appreciation of Choice Works by Liu Cixin - China’s Science Fiction Explorer will be held in Beijing on November 21, 2018, in a bid to boost the Base and writing & research on science fiction.
The conference, jointly hosted by CSWA, Department of Science Popularization of China Association for Science and Technology, China Science and Technology Press (Popular Science Press), and Haidian Association for Science and Technology, Beijing, will draw nearly 40 representatives from the popular science, literature, and science fiction communities as well as more than 10 media outlets, such as Tencent, Xinhua, China Association for Science and Technology, and China Science Communication.
The conference will be divided into two sections: the 2nd Annual Meeting of Science Fiction Writing & Research Base of CSWA for 2018 (hereinafter referred to as the Annual Meeting of the Base) and the Academic Forum of Science Fiction Base (hereinafter referred to as the Academic Forum). The Annual Meeting of the Base will be hosted by Wang Jinkang, science fiction writer, Vice Chairman of CSWA, and Director of the Base; the Academic Forum will consist of two symposiums: one on children’s science fiction series and award-winning works by Wang Jinkang, Liu Cixin and other new writers and the other on Appreciation of Choice Works by Liu Cixin - China’s Science Fiction Explorer. Experts and scholars from the academia and industry will engage in a wonderful discussion through keynote and free speeches in combination.
Established in December, 2016 and affiliated to Haidian Association for Science and Technology, Beijing, the Science Fiction Writing & Research Base of CSWA will summarize its work in the previous year during this conference, and continue to explore new possibilities in science fiction research.
